How to make doughnuts without a donut cutter

Soft Fluffy melt in your mouth donut. Doughnut happens to be one of my favorite snack. It is soft and fluffy and delicious. Some people enjoy it as breakfast, lunch or as a celebratory snack. Most office get together is not complete without some donuts. You don't need a donut cutter to make this donuts

Directions


  1.  Sift flour, then add the yeast, sugar,salt to the flour and mix to combine.
  2.  Add the wet ingredients (milk, egg, melted butter and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix to combine. Beat vigorously for about seven minutes to create gluten.
  3.  Cover and place in a warm place to proof for 45 - 60 minutes.                         
  4.  After 60 minutes, deflate the risen dough and cut into 16 pieces.  Roll them into balls and place them on a floured surface. Create a hole in the middle of each  ball with your fingers and try to expand the holes to prevent them from shrinking .
  5.  Cover the dough and let them rest for 30 minutes.
  6.  After 30 minutes, heat up some vegetable oil on medium heat and when it is hot enough, fry the donuts, while moving them frequently so that they will develop an even color. Fry on both sides till they are golden brown.     


 Ingredients

3 cups All Purpose flour 

1/4 cup All Purpose flour for dusting 

 1/4 tsp instant rise yeast (1 packet) 

1 Cup warm milk or evaporated milk

 1 Large egg 

3 tbsp sugar 

2 tbsp melted unsalted butter 

1 tsp Vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

Twisted Doughnut

How to make Twisted Doughnut

Simple homemade Twisted doughnut. I will be showing you how to make twisted donuts at home. It is soft, fluffy and melt in your mouth doughnut. It is a very simple recipe to make. 

Directions



  1. Combine all the wet ingredients (milk, melted butter, egg and vanilla extract) and whisk.
  2. Add all the dry ingredients and mix to combine.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, yeast and cinnamon) and mix to form a dough.
  4. Transfer dough to a work surface and knead for about seven minutes. to create gluten. After seven minutes, transfer dough into a greased bowl, cover and place in a warm place to proof for 60 minutes.
  5. After 60 minutes, deflate the dough, dust your work surface and cut dough into 16 pieces. Then roll each piece into a ball and cover to prevent them from drying up
  6. Roll each dough between both palms or on your work surface until it is long enough. Then roll the dough with each hand moving in opposite directions. Lift the dough off the board and hold both ends together. The dough would naturally roll over each other to form the twist. Repeat process until done.
  7. Cover the twisted donuts and let them rest for 15 minutes on one side, then flip them on the other side to rest for another 15 minutes.
  8. Heat up some vegetable oil on medium heat. Once it is hot, fry the doughnuts on both sides until they are golden brown.
  9. Add 1/4 cup sugar and one teaspoon cinnamon to a bag, mix together, them add the doughnut and shake till every doughnut is coated with cinnamon sugar. Enjoy!
