Homemade White Bread

Homemade White Bread

I am going to show you how to make simple and easy homemade bread with a simple bread recipe. This recipe makes two loaves of bread that is soft, flavorful and fluffy.

Directions


  • Microwave the water for 30 - 40  seconds to warm it up or use hot water from the faucet .
  • In a bowl, add the flour, sugar, salt, milk, instant yeast and stir to combine. There is no need to activate the yeast because it is instant yeast, it does not require proofing.
  • Add the warm water, vanilla extract and mix to combine. You can do this with you hand or dough mixer. Add the soft butter and continue to knead.
  • Knead the dough for about 7 - 10 minutes until it forms a smooth ball of dough. Kneading of the dough creates gluten which is an essential part of bread. Oil the bowl and the dough so that the dough does not stick to any thing after it rises. Cover with a plastic wrap and napkin and put in a warm place to rise for 60 - 90 minutes. In the cold months, you can create a warm place in the oven by turning it on for a minute, then turn it off, leave the oven light on; place the dough in the oven to proof.
  • After 90 minutes, deflate the dough , split the dough into 2 equal parts and roll each out on a board.  Roll each dough into a log and place each rolled dough into greased pans. Cover the pans with plastic wrap and napkin, place in a warm place for 60 minutes to rise the second time.
  • After 60 minutes, preheat oven to 350 degrees F/180 degrees C. Then bake for  30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes or when it is done, apply butter over the rolls. This will add flavor and shine to the rolls. Let them cool and enjoy!


Ingredients: 

6 cups All Purpose flour 

1/2 cup powdered milk 

1/4 cup sugar 

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter/Margarine  

 2 1/2 tsp instant yeast 

2 1/4 cups warm water 

1 tsp salt 

1 tsp Vanilla extract  


Pan sizes: Two 9" x 5" pans
