Mac & Cheese Recipe

Mac & Cheese Recipe

Mac & cheese is a popular American dish and comfort food that is enjoyed by many. Mac and cheese as the name implied is macaroni and cheese cooked together to create a very cheesy delicious meal. Mac and cheese is a perfect side dish for Thanksgiving and Christmas get together. It can be made with a combination of different cheeses but this recipe is a four cheese mac & cheese. It is crowd pleasing, cheesy and mouth watering. Give it a try, I promise that you will love it.

Directions

  • Grate all the block cheese and slice the provolone cheese into tiny pieces.
  • Heat up water in a large pot and bring it to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, add enough salt to the water until it is salty. Them add the macaroni and cook for 7 minutes or until al dente. Don't forget to stir it once in a while to prevent the macaroni from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  • After 7 minutes, drain the macaroni and transfer the drained macaroni back to the pot. Everything will be mixed in the pot. Add evaporated milk, all the provolone and monterey jack cheese, nutmeg, pepper, some of the sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheese (save some for topping), eggs and mix everything together until combined.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease the baking dish, then pour the mac and cheese into it. Level the top of the mac and cheese, the sprinkle the left over cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top. Bake in the oven for about 30- 40 minutes or until the top is golden.


Ingredients 

1lb (453g)  Elbow macaroni

 12 oz (354 mL) Evaporated milk 

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese 

8 oz Monterey jack cheese 

8 oz  mozzarella

 8 oz sliced provolone cheese

 2 large eggs 

Nutmeg 

Pepper for heat (optional) 

Salt to taste
