Organic cranberry juice

How to make raw organic cranberry juice

Cranberries are seasonal fruits, fresh cranberries are usually available during the months of October through to December, although dried or frozen cranberries can be found all year round. Cranberries are superfood with lots of health benefits. They are high in vitamin C and antioxidants. They are beneficial in treating and preventing some diseases. Cranberry juice is very popular in hospitals and nursing homes because of the health benefits and cranberry juice is known to prevent and treat urinary tract infection. So when in season, make cranberry juice.

Directions

  • Wash the cranberries with water and discard any soft cranberry. Cranberries are usually firm and a soft cranberry is either breaking down or fermenting. So get rid of any soft cranberry,
  • Blend the cranberries with 1/2 of the bottle of purified water. Blend until it looks like smoothie.
  • Pour the blended cranberries into a strainer and let the juice drain into a container. Pour the remaining water into the strainer and use it to extract more juice from the pulp. If you prefer a clear juice without pulp, use a cheesecloth or chiffon cloth to strain it. Do not throw the pulp away, save it for cranberry jam.
  • Add any sweetener of choice if you prefer a sweet cranberry juice. You can drink it right away or refrigerate it for up to a week

4 cups Organic cranberries

1 bottle (500 ml/16.9 fl) of purified water
