Tasty deep fried turkey

Turkey does not have a lot of flavor so it needs to be well seasoned before you can really enjoy it. Turkey can be cooked whole or cut into smaller pieces. It can also be baked, boiled, roasted or fried. You can season the turkey with any spices of your choice. This recipe is simple yet delicious with only a very few spices, you will always have a delicious outcome.

Directions

  • Cut the turkey into the desired size. Wash the meat and put the pieces into a large pot, add water and salt to taste, bring to a boil. Then rinse out the meat.
  • Place the meat back into the large pot, pour in enough water to the level of the meat, add chopped onion, chopped habanero peppers, ground ginger, curry powder,seasoning cubes and salt to taste. Stir and cover to cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes. Drain the turkey.
  • Heat up enough oil to deep fry the turkey over medium to medium high heat. Once the oil is hot enough, fry the meat in batches until they are golden brown. Fry the meat on one side for about 10 minutes, then flip them to the other side to fry for about 10 minutes. Remove from oil and repeat the same process until you are done with the remaining pieces.
  • Add fried turkey to stew or enjoy as is.

1 whole turkey

1 medium onion

2 habanero peppers

1 tbsp curry powder

1 tbsp ground ginger

2 seasoning cubes

salt to taste

Vegetable oil for deep frying
